The adrenaline-fueled showdown saw Lategan and Cummings start the last leg with a 39-second lead over their closest rivals, Sebastian Loeb and Fabian Lurquin. The competition intensified as the teams tackled the challenging 111km stage, keeping fans on the edge of their seats.

In a display of sheer determination and skill, Lategan and Cummings from Toyota Gazoo Racing went head-to-head against the Dacia Sandriders, ultimately securing their first W2RC victory. The victory not only propelled them to the top of the championship leaderboard but also showcased their prowess in the world of rally racing.

Meanwhile, Nasser Al-Attiyah stole the show by claiming the stage win, with Lategan hot on his heels, finishing just four seconds behind. The battle for supremacy raged on, with twists and turns keeping spectators captivated until the very end.

The event also saw remarkable performances from other competitors, including Mathieu Serradori, Carlos Sainz, and Gareth Woolridge, who defied the odds and pushed their limits on the rugged terrain of the Safari Rally.

As the dust settled, Lategan emerged triumphant, beating Loeb by 1 minute and 39 seconds in the overall standings. The victory marked a significant milestone for Lategan and Cummings, solidifying their reputation as formidable contenders in the world of rally racing.

In a parallel event, Daniel Sanders continued his winning streak in the RallyGP category, securing his third consecutive victory. The KTM rider showcased his dominance on the challenging course, setting new records and cementing his status as a force to be reckoned with in the sport.

The South African Safari Rally delivered thrills, surprises, and unforgettable moments, highlighting the grit and determination of the competing teams. As the dust settles and the engines quiet down, one thing is clear – in the world of rally racing, only the strongest survive.
