A shocking penalty rocks the Monaco F1 Grand Prix as Ollie Bearman faces a grid drop of 10 positions for a flag infringement during practice sessions. The Haas driver was found guilty of overtaking under red flags, a serious violation that endangered his fellow racers’ safety. Despite claiming he saw the red flags but chose not to slow down abruptly, citing safety concerns, Bearman’s actions were deemed reckless by race officials.

Video evidence captured Bearman passing Carlos Sainz while red flags were displayed following Oscar Piastri’s crash in Friday’s second practice session. The stewards thoroughly reviewed the incident before handing down the severe grid penalty and issuing two penalty points on Bearman’s racing license. The decision highlighted the importance of immediate compliance with red flag signals, especially on challenging tracks like Monaco.

The penalty serves as a stark reminder of the non-negotiable safety protocols in Formula 1, where split-second decisions can have severe consequences. Bearman’s grid penalty adds an extra layer of complexity to his Monaco Grand Prix campaign, putting him at a significant disadvantage before the race even begins. Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story as the Monaco F1 Grand Prix unfolds.
