Monaco F2 Qualifying Scandal: Leader’s Pole Position Threatened by Stewards Amid Controversy

In a heart-stopping qualifying session at the 2025 Monaco Grand Prix, Alex Dunne claimed pole position for the F2 feature race by a mere three milliseconds ahead of Victor Martins. However, controversy looms as stewards are currently investigating an incident during Dunne’s qualifying run.

The Monaco Grand Prix circuit’s tight and twisty nature led to a split qualifying format, with 11 cars in each of the two 16-minute sessions. The fastest overall lap secures pole position, while the grid for the full-length race on Sunday is determined by odd and even-numbered slots based on group performance.

In Group A, it was Victor Martins who shone, clocking a blistering lap time of 1:21.145 to secure a front-row start for the main race. The French driver outpaced Richard Verschoor by almost four-tenths of a second, showcasing his prowess on the iconic Monte Carlo track. Red Bull junior driver Arvid Lindblad, Gabriele Mini, and Kush Maini completed the top five in the session.

The intensity of the qualifying session was palpable, with drivers pushing the limits of their cars. Dino Beganonvic’s late incident, locking up heading into Sainte Devote, added a dramatic flair to an already thrilling session.

As the stage is set for the Monaco Grand Prix, all eyes are on Dunne and Martins, the pace-setters of the qualifying session. With the investigation ongoing, the drama off the track adds an extra layer of intrigue to what promises to be an electrifying race day in Monaco.
