U8L é o novo SUV elétrico de luxo da YangWang

The premium sub-brand of BYD, YangWang, has now presented data about the new luxury SUV, the U8L, to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) of China, revealing significant improvements over the already available model U8.

The new version of the luxury SUV features an additional 200 mm in wheelbase, along with a luxurious 24K gold emblem and a new six-seat interior, positioning it as one of the boldest luxury models in the Chinese market.

However, the images now revealed show that the U8L has a front section identical to the U8, with a grille featuring an illuminated logo, characteristic of YangWang, now available with genuine 24K gold plating on the front and rear emblems. Additionally, the new 23-inch forged wheels with eight spokes are complemented by wider tires for better grip.

The rear section presents a cleaner image, with a redesigned bumper that merges with a sophisticated split tailgate system, with upper and lower sections operable independently.

With a length of 5.40 meters and a wheelbase of 3.25 m, the U8L is larger than its older “brother” by 200 mm between the axles and provides dimensions that facilitate the opulent 2+2+2 cabin layout, focused on the comfort of rear passengers.

Images and data revealed by the Chinese press indicate that the YangWang U8L will maintain the configuration of four electric motors with 1180 hp of power and a maximum torque of 1,280 Nm, powered by a 2.0T range extender.

The Cloud-Native P hydraulic suspension maintains the already known capabilities of this luxurious SUV, including emergency buoyancy and the ability to “turn like a tank,” that is, to rotate on its own axis.

The new SUV from YangWang, which constitutes an important step for BYD’s sub-brand in the luxury vehicle market in China, is expected to be unveiled in July and enter production at the end of 2025.
