Lucro da holding Porsche recuam 15,6% para €1068 milhões no 1.º trimestre

Porsche is set to end production of the Boxster and the Cayman due to stricter cybersecurity regulations in Europe.

According to “Motor1,” the Zuffenhausen brand will put an end to the two models, also for the rest of the world, later this year.

The same publication reports that Frank Wiesmann, Director of Product Communications at Porsche Cars North America, indicated that the fourth generation of the Boxster and the Cayman has entered its final months of production, and that the last units of both models are scheduled to be produced in October.

It is already known that the end of the line for the Boxster and the Cayman will bring fully electric versions of both models in the medium term, which are still in development, and according to Oliver Blume, CEO of Porsche, will be “even more dynamic and powerful, with a pure driving experience”.

Despite maintaining its commitment to electrification, Porsche announced in February that it has redefined its strategy for the future and will therefore keep models with combustion engines in its lineup. This is the case for the Cayenne, which will coexist with the next electric version until the 2030s. For its part, the Panamera will also keep combustion engines in the next decade. To this end, the Zuffenhausen brand is developing the 4.0-liter biturbo V8 to meet Euro 7 regulations.
