Lewis Hamilton, the seven-time Formula 1 world champion, is setting tongues wagging once again, this time for his impressive and classy gesture towards Ferrari fans that has drawn comparisons to the legendary Michael Schumacher.

During the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix weekend, Hamilton showcased not only his racing prowess but also his dedication to the Italian fans by making an effort to speak their native language. The British driver, who recently made the switch from Mercedes to Ferrari, surprised everyone by addressing the tifosi in Italian during the pre-race driver parade and continued to express his gratitude to them on team radio after the race.

His actions did not go unnoticed, with 1997 F1 champion Jacques Villeneuve commending Hamilton for his efforts. Villeneuve remarked, “I don’t remember Schumacher doing that, making that effort, going out there. Seb [Vettel] did, but after how many races? His seventh race, and he’s already saying things in Italian. His accent wasn’t too bad!”

Hamilton’s willingness to embrace the Italian culture and connect with the fans has not only won him praise but has also endeared him to the Ferrari faithful. Despite a challenging start to his Ferrari journey, Hamilton’s fourth-place finish at the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix has injected renewed confidence as he climbs up to sixth in the drivers’ standings, trailing teammate Charles Leclerc by just eight points.

As Hamilton gears up for the upcoming Monaco Grand Prix, all eyes will be on the F1 superstar to see if his impressive performance on and off the track will continue to draw parallels to the iconic Michael Schumacher.
