Lewis Hamilton’s Meteoric Rise on the Sunday Times Rich List

In a shocking turn of events, Formula 1 champion Lewis Hamilton has skyrocketed his way up the prestigious Sunday Times Rich List for 2025, leaving behind Grammy-award winning artists and Hollywood A-List celebrities in his dust. The 40-year-old racing superstar’s recent mega-deal with Ferrari has only propelled his fame and fortune to new heights, raking in a jaw-dropping £50 million annually with the team. Not stopping there, Hamilton has also taken on lucrative ambassadorial roles with top brands like Lululemon and Dior, solidifying his status as a global icon.

Hamilton’s earnings for 2025 have received a massive boost, as he ascended to the 324th spot on The Sunday Times Rich List with a staggering £385 million to his name, marking a £35 million increase from the previous year. Surpassing notable figures like Ed Sheeran, Charlotte Tilbury, and Ellen DeGeneres, who made their debut on the list, Hamilton’s financial prowess is undeniable.

It’s a cutthroat race at the top of the Rich List, with the likes of Gopi Hinduja and family maintaining their dominance for the fourth consecutive year with an eye-watering £35 billion fortune. Following closely behind are David and Simon Reuben, co-owners of Newcastle United FC, securing the second spot with a hefty £27 billion. Not to be outdone, Leonard Blavatnik, the owner of sports streaming service DAZN, rounds up the top three with a formidable £25 billion in wealth.

Amongst the elite ranks of entrepreneurs and sports moguls is former F1 boss Bernie Ecclestone, who made a notable appearance on the list, ranking 81st with a prosperous £2 billion to his name. Meanwhile, music legend Paul McCartney reigns supreme as the wealthiest musician of 2025, amassing a colossal fortune of over £1 billion after achieving billionaire status in 2024.

In a surprising twist, former British prime minister Rishi Sunak and his wife Akshata Murty have surpassed even King Charles III on the Rich List, accumulating a substantial fortune of £640 million each, with Sunak edging out the monarch by a single spot. The financial landscape is ever-evolving, and Hamilton’s meteoric rise serves as a testament to his unparalleled success in the world of sports and beyond.
