Galp ultrapassa um milhão de carregamentos na rede de mobilidade elétrica em 2023

Getnet, the payment solutions company of the Santander Group, has joined forces with Elecctro, an innovative Portuguese startup in self-service machine management, to make the payment for electric vehicle charging simpler.

In this way, electric vehicle users will be able to pay for charging easily and securely using their bank card, without the need for any subscription or long-term commitment.

One of the key points of this collaboration is the interoperability of the solution. Elecctro’s technological platform is compatible with the main payment methods in Portugal, providing electric vehicle drivers with a hassle-free experience, regardless of their location or payment method preference.

This feature, as Getnet states in a press release, “meets the requirements set forth by the Alternative Fuels Infrastructure Regulation (AFIR), which aims to make electric vehicle charging payment an identical experience throughout the European Union.”

Getnet also notes that among some of the main operators who have already invested in this partnership are Iberdrola, Galp, and EDP, with dozens of installations spread across the country.

“We are very excited about this collaboration that reinforces our commitment to providing convenient and accessible payment solutions to promote sustainable mobility”, said Rubén Justel, CEO of Getnet Europe. “Facilitating access to electric vehicle charging points is a crucial step in encouraging more people to choose this eco-friendly alternative”, concluded Justel.
