General Motors has suspended exports of a small number of vehicles manufactured in the United States to China, due to the tariffs imposed following the trade “war” between the two countries.
According to reports from “Reuters”, the automaker confirmed that it has stopped sending utility vehicles like the Chevrolet Tahoe to China, and that it will cease exporting other high-end models to the Chinese market.
It should be noted that GM began exporting the Tahoe to China last year; however, the arrival of Donald Trump in the White House and the imposition of tariffs on automobile imports escalated a trade conflict between China and the U.S. with high customs duties being imposed.
The measure now announced by GM comes at a time when the United States and China continue to hold meetings regarding tariffs and other trade issues.
