Stellantis announced this Monday that Xavier Chardon is the new CEO of Citroën, a position he will take on starting June 2nd.
Xavier Chardon, who will report directly to Jean-Philippe Imparato, Chief Operating Officer of Stellantis for the Expanded Europe region, has spent his entire career in the automotive industry in France, Europe, and China. He joined PSA in 1994 at the Citroën brand, starting his career in Italy, and after several positions at the brand’s headquarters, he took over the management of Citroën in Denmark in 2001 and later in Germany in 2004.
In addition, he served as director of marketing, press, and public relations from 2007 to 2009, before becoming the general director of Citroën France, a position he held until 2011. After spending time at VW starting in 2012, Xavier Chardon returned to France in 2021, where he became chairman of the Volkswagen Group France Council.
Now, Xavier Chardon takes on the role of CEO of Citroën, where he will be responsible for continuing the brand’s development, based on the recent launches of the C3, C3 Aircross, and the new C5 Aircross models.
