NASCAR shook by controversy at North Wilkesboro Speedway as Brad Keselowski’s team faces adversity

In a stunning turn of events at the North Wilkesboro Speedway, NASCAR powerhouse Brad Keselowski’s team, Roush Fenway Keselowski Racing, was at the center of a controversy that led to last-minute modifications on the track. The drama unfolded during the All-Star Race when driver Ryan Preece, piloting the #60 Ford for RFK Racing, found himself penalized for a restart violation, crushing his chances of competing for one million dollars.

Preece, who was running second with just 17 laps to go, was penalized by NASCAR for failing to choose a lane before entering the restart zone. The driver expressed his frustration, claiming the ‘Choose V’ sign on the track was practically invisible from inside the car, leading to confusion and ultimately a penalty that dashed his hopes of advancing in the race.

Following Preece’s outcry, NASCAR took action and repainted the ‘Choose V’ sign on the track before the All-Star Race, validating the driver’s claims of its poor visibility. This turn of events not only impacted Preece’s race but also prevented him from joining his teammates Brad Keselowski and Chris Buescher in the quest for victory.

Brad Keselowski, the former Cup Series champion and owner-driver of RFK Racing, managed to secure pole position for the All-Star Race, a refreshing achievement amid a season of ups and downs. Despite his strong start, Keselowski faced disappointment as he finished the race in P22, while Christopher Bell of Joe Gibbs Racing emerged victorious, clinching his fourth win of the season at the 0.625-mile short track.

The controversy surrounding Preece’s penalty and Keselowski’s rollercoaster performance added an extra layer of excitement and tension to an already thrilling All-Star Race at North Wilkesboro Speedway. NASCAR fans were left on the edge of their seats as unexpected turns and fierce competition unfolded on the historic track, showcasing the resilience and determination of drivers and teams in the face of adversity.
