Langdon, Hagan & Herrera Dominate the Drag Racing Scene at Route 66

The high-octane action at Route 66 Raceway in Joliet, Illinois, was nothing short of spectacular as the stars of the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series shone brightly during the 25th annual Gerber Collision & Glass Route 66 NHRA Nationals presented by PEAK.

Shawn Langdon and Doug Kalitta of Kalitta Motorsports set the track on fire with their exceptional performances. Langdon clinched victory in the Mission #2Fast2Tasty Challenge bonus race, while Kalitta secured his third consecutive No. 1 qualifier spot with a blistering track-record run.

In the Top Fuel category, Langdon proved his dominance by winning the Mission #2Fast2Tasty Challenge for the third time this season. His impressive run of 3.704-seconds at 332.10 mph showcased the raw power of his Kalitta Air Careers dragster. Kalitta, on the other hand, continued his qualifying supremacy with a record-setting run of 3.661 at 335.23 mph in his Mac Tools dragster.

Over in the Funny Car division, Matt Hagan emerged victorious in the Mission #2Fast2Tasty Challenge with a stellar performance in his Direct Connection Dodge//SRT Hellcat. Hagan’s win, coupled with Jack Beckman’s top qualifying run in his PEAK Chevrolet SS, added to the thrilling spectacle at Route 66 Raceway.

Pro Stock Motorcycle saw Gaige Herrera’s outstanding display of skill as he clinched victory in the Mission #2Fast2Tasty Challenge and secured the No. 1 qualifying position with a swift run on his Vance & Hines Suzuki.

With Langdon, Hagan, and Herrera leading the charge, the competition at Route 66 was fierce and adrenaline-fueled. As these drag racing titans continue to push the limits of speed and performance, fans can expect more electrifying races ahead in the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series season.
