Ferrari Nightmare at Imola: Leclerc Begs Forgiveness as Team Fails Miserably in Qualifying

In a shocking turn of events at Imola, both Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton failed to make it to Q3 in front of their home crowd. This unprecedented double elimination in Q2 marked a humiliating moment for Ferrari, with Leclerc finishing 11th and Hamilton 12th, behind unexpected contenders like Carlos Sainz and Pierre Gasly.

Leclerc, showing true sportsmanship, took responsibility for the team’s poor performance, stating, “When there is so much passion surrounding a team and we can’t even make it past Q2, it hurts. It hurts a lot within the team, believe me. Such a level of performance is not acceptable, and we must react.”

The Monegasque driver’s radio message, “my god, my god, my god,” upon realizing their elimination, quickly went viral on social media, reflecting the team’s distress. Speaking to Canal+, Leclerc expressed extreme disappointment, acknowledging the team’s lack of competitiveness, “We are clearly not at the level we should be. We are not fast in qualifying even when we do good laps, we are nowhere. What do we lack? Everything. We were eliminated in Q2. The race? It will take a miracle, but we cannot expect miracles like that every Sunday. We simply need to improve because we are not at the level we should be.”

As Ferrari faces their worst qualifying performance at Imola, the pressure is on the team to bounce back and deliver a stronger showing in the race. Will they be able to turn the tide and redeem themselves after this embarrassing setback?
