Jack Beckman, the former world champion and Funny Car standout, is gearing up for an adrenaline-fueled showdown at the 25th annual Gerber Collision & Glass Route 66 NHRA Nationals presented by PEAK. After a rollercoaster ride in the previous races, Beckman is poised to reclaim his spot at the top of the leaderboard at Route 66 Raceway in Chicago.

Just a few races ago, Beckman was leading the points standings after a spectacular victory at the Winternationals in Pomona. However, back-to-back first-round losses in the four-wide races in April saw him slip to fourth place. Now, with his 11,000-horsepower PEAK Chevrolet SS revved up and ready to roar, Beckman is determined to leave his competitors in the dust and surge back to victory.

Beckman expressed his eagerness for the upcoming race, stating, “After two uncharacteristic first-round losses, Chicago’s race is one that can’t come soon enough for me. We will have a special employee-themed design on our Chevy SS, spend time with them at the PEAK headquarters and hopefully culminate our weekend with a ‘PEAK-packed’ winner’s circle.”

The Route 66 Raceway promises an action-packed weekend with intense competition from top contenders like reigning world champion Austin Prock, Phoenix winner Paul Lee, defending event champion Matt Hagan, Ron Capps, Bob Tasca III, and Gainesville winner Chad Green. Despite the fierce competition, Beckman is confident that his team will rise to the occasion and show their true potential on the racetrack.

Reflecting on the past races, Beckman emphasized the team’s determination to bounce back, saying, “We’re better than this and our car is better than this. We’ll get this Chevy SS back in the winner’s circle soon, and I think Sunday in Chicago in PEAK’s backyard might be the day.”

With four rounds of qualifying, the Mission #2Fast2Tasty Challenge, and exhilarating eliminations lined up, the 25th anniversary event at Route 66 Raceway is set to be an electrifying spectacle for drag racing enthusiasts. Beckman’s return to the iconic racetrack adds an extra layer of excitement, as he aims to recreate his past victory and make a triumphant comeback in the world of drag racing.
