Ex-piloto levanta preocupações sobre programa de treinamento da F1 após desqualificar vitória do piloto da Mercedes na Arábia Saudita devido a erro na última volta.

Doraine Pin, a competitor in the 2024 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, had a setback as she fell to ninth place in the overall standings. The weekend was eventful, with notable occurrences, including an unusual incident at the F1 Academy.

This year, the Academy races coincided with the F1 event. Although the Academy race was successful, it received negative attention when a Mercedes development driver, whose identity remains unknown, was disqualified from her victory in the Grand Prix.

During the F1 Academy Grand Prix in Saudi Arabia, Pin was the first to cross the finish line. However, she did not notice the checkered flag being waved and continued for another lap at high speed. As a result, her first-place position was awarded to the Alpine driver.

This incident sparked significant online discussion, leading F1 commentator Karun Chandhok to express his confusion and suggest that a warning would have been sufficient. The controversy surrounding Pin’s performance resulted in a 20-second time penalty and her subsequent drop to ninth place in the final standings.

Adding to the intrigue, Pin informed her fellow drivers that she had radio communication issues during the race. This became evident when she crossed the flag and continued to race for another lap. Her race engineer confirmed the radio problem, stating that the 20-year-old did not receive the message.

This incident stands out as a unique occurrence during a race weekend. It will certainly be a memorable and cautionary tale for all drivers, especially for Doraine Pin, who endured an unfortunate outcome.
