Nissan has already announced that it will launch a new generation of the Micra in 2026. But before that, it decided to celebrate the 23rd anniversary of the Micra 350SR, a prototype based on the 2002 small hatchback model.
The original Micra 350SR was built by the RML Group, the racing division responsible for Nissan’s success in the British touring car championship in the 1990s. Based on a 2002 Micra K12, the 350SR was equipped with a 3.5-liter V6 engine from the Murano installed behind the front seats, with camshafts and intake system from NISMO, and an upgraded ECU that allowed the power to be raised to 300 hp, for a car that weighs only 1,225 kg.
Twenty-five years later, Nissan decided to update the 350SR, keeping the original design but equipping the radical Micra with new rounded LED headlights that pay homage to the future electric Micra, a silver and blue paint job, and 18-inch RAYS wheels.
The interior remains virtually untouched, featuring updated seats and seatbelts, as well as a 9’’ screen compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with a sound system.
