Legendary NASCAR icon Tony Stewart is making headlines once again with his thrilling return to the racing scene, but this time not as a driver but as a broadcaster for Fox Sports at the prestigious Indy 500. The former NASCAR champion, who previously conquered the IndyCar Series in 1997, is set to bring his wealth of experience and insights to the 2025 edition of The Greatest Spectacle in Racing.

Stewart’s comeback to the IndyCar Series after transitioning to NASCAR in 1999 has sparked excitement among fans and fellow racing enthusiasts. The 53-year-old racing legend retired from the NASCAR Cup Series in 2016, leaving behind a remarkable legacy that includes three championships, one of which was secured as a team owner with driver Kevin Harvick clinching the title.

In an exclusive statement on social media, Stewart expressed his enthusiasm for his new role, saying, “Excited to be back behind the mic with the @IndyCarOnFOX team for the 109th running of the #Indy500.” Joining Stewart in the Fox broadcasting team is none other than former NASCAR star Danica Patrick, alongside renowned sportscaster Chris Myers.

The highly anticipated 109th edition of the Indy 500 is scheduled for May 25, with NASCAR sensation Kyle Larson also set to participate before heading to the Coca-Cola 600 at the Charlotte Motor Speedway on the same day, aiming to conquer The Double challenge.

In a recent interview, Tony Stewart reflected on his departure from NASCAR, citing the evolving landscape of the sport as a factor in his decision. Stewart expressed his sentiments on a podcast, highlighting the changes in NASCAR over the years, stating, “It is not what it used to be.” The racing icon emphasized that leaving NASCAR was not part of a predetermined plan but rather a decision influenced by changing priorities and circumstances.

Tony Stewart’s exit from NASCAR in 2024 marked the end of an illustrious career spanning three decades, both as a driver and team owner across the sport’s national series. Despite his departure, Stewart’s legacy continues to resonate in the world of motorsports, with his former co-owner Gene Haas carrying on the torch under the banner of Haas Factory Team with driver Cole Custer leading the charge.

As Tony Stewart gears up for his broadcasting duties at the upcoming Indy 500, fans and enthusiasts alike eagerly await the insights and expertise he will bring to the iconic event. Stay tuned as the racing legend embarks on this new chapter in his storied career, leaving an indelible mark on the world of motorsports once again.
