Stellantis transfere produção do Maserati GranTurismo para Modena

Stellantis announced this Thursday that the production of Maserati’s sports models will be transferred from the Mirafiori factory in Turin, Italy, to the production facility in Modena by the end of the year.

Maserati has its hometown in Modena, and therefore the decision now announced to move the production of the GranTurismo coupe and convertible models will have a positive impact on production in Modena.

Additionally, the change, scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2025, coincides with Stellantis’s decision to produce the Fiat 500 hybrid in Mirafiori, an effort that is expected to generate a much more significant number of 100,000 units per year.

Although Maserati’s future remains uncertain, the brand suggests that moving the production of the GranTurismo and GranCabrio to its headquarters reaffirms a “strong commitment” to the Modena production facility and its workers.

The Modena factory is the production site for the MC20 Coupe, the Cielo, and the GT2 Stradale, as well as the V6 Nettuno engine that powers the brand’s sports lineup. The Italian brand considers the Modena facility to be “one of the most advanced facilities in the country.”

“Bringing the GranTurismo and the GranCabrio back to Modena is a strategic decision and a great source of pride, combining our industrial heritage with future capabilities, and for this, we must also thank our colleagues in Mirafiori for the extraordinary work done in the first phase of production in recent years. By starting production in the fourth quarter of 2025, we are strengthening our roots while also providing the flexibility and innovation that our customers expect”, said Santo Ficili, CEO of Maserati.
