Alpine’s Shocking Move: Ferrari Protege Slams ‘Harsh’ Dismissal of Jack Doohan

F1 Controversy Unleashed: Alpine Under Fire for Abrupt Jack Doohan Dismissal

In a shocking turn of events within the Formula 1 world, young driver Jack Doohan has been ousted from the Alpine team after just five races, sparking outrage and criticism from Ferrari protege Oliver Bearman. Bearman condemned Alpine’s decision as “incredibly harsh,” arguing that Doohan was not given a fair opportunity to showcase his skills on the track.

The dismissal of Doohan, who is a fellow rookie in the F1 realm, has raised eyebrows and stirred debate among fans and professionals alike. Even before the season commenced, speculations loomed over Doohan’s future as Alpine made a significant investment to acquire Franco Colapinto from Williams. Despite initial assurances from Flavio Briatore about starting the season with Doohan, the young driver has now been replaced by Colapinto, who has been granted six races to prove his worth.

Expressing empathy for his colleague, Bearman remarked, “I feel like his treatment was very unfair. Coming from his position, being a rookie myself, it’s very difficult, especially in the first half of the season.” He highlighted the immense pressure rookies face, particularly navigating new tracks and sprint events early on, making Alpine’s swift decision to replace Doohan even more severe in his eyes.

Former teammate Pierre Gasly chose to remain tight-lipped on the matter, refraining from passing judgment on the fairness of Alpine’s choice. Gasly acknowledged Doohan’s talent and the challenges rookies encounter in a competitive field like F1, emphasizing the need for support and camaraderie among drivers.

As the F1 community grapples with Alpine’s controversial move, questions linger about the criteria for driver evaluations and the handling of young talents in the sport. Doohan now faces the daunting task of carving his path back into the world of Formula 1, leaving fans and experts alike pondering the complexities of driver management and team dynamics in elite motorsport.
