An unprecedented move by the FIA has sent shockwaves through the Formula 1 world, as Ferrari and McLaren were both subjected to intense scrutiny following the Miami Grand Prix.

The technical dominance of McLaren has been a hot topic in the F1 community, with the team’s remarkable performance setting them apart from the competition. McLaren’s ability to manage tire wear, particularly on the rear tires, has been a game-changer, providing significant advantages in both race pace and qualifying sessions.

After rumors circulated about the legality of McLaren’s braking system, the FIA conducted thorough inspections on both Ferrari, driven by Charles Leclerc, and McLaren, driven by Oscar Piastri. This double inspection is a rare occurrence, indicating the intense pressure from rival teams, especially Red Bull, to uncover any potential advantages that McLaren might be exploiting.

The FIA delegates focused on scrutinizing McLaren’s wheel hubs, specifically the brake ducts, while examining Ferrari’s steering wheel and related components like the clutch. Fortunately for both teams, all inspected elements were found to be in compliance with the technical regulations, putting an end to any speculation of foul play.

The outcome of these investigations will undoubtedly have a lasting impact on the ongoing F1 season, as teams strive to push the boundaries of innovation while staying within the confines of the regulations. The intense rivalry and quest for performance superiority in Formula 1 continue to drive teams to seek any possible advantage, even if it means pushing the limits of legality.
