Ford Motor is calling back 273,789 vehicles in the United States due to a defect in the braking system that could increase the risk of an accident.
This information was revealed on Wednesday by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), which noted that the issue affects the 2022 to 2024 Navigator and Expedition models.
According to the regulator, the brake fluid in the affected vehicles may leak because the front brake lines could be damaged due to contact with the engine air filter outlet tube.
The NHTSA also stated that it expects Ford dealers to inspect and replace the affected parts free of charge, reminding that owners of the affected models will receive notification letters by May 26.
