In a fiery exchange over the radio waves, Montoya accuses Ferrari of overthinking their strategies

Ferrari’s internal struggles were brought to light during the Miami Grand Prix as Lewis Hamilton vented his frustration towards the team’s decision-making process. The seven-time champion was heard on the radio urging Ferrari to make quick decisions, sarcastically suggesting they have a cup of tea while deliberating. Hamilton’s impatience peaked when he requested teammate Charles Leclerc to yield position to him to maximize the potential of his new set of medium tires.

The tension escalated as Hamilton pointed out how he promptly let his teammate pass in China when the situation was reversed, showcasing a lack of reciprocity from Leclerc. Eventually, Leclerc complied, allowing Hamilton through, but the delay had already compromised the tire performance. This forced Hamilton to concede the position back to Leclerc, resulting in a bitter seventh and eighth-place finish for the Ferrari duo.

The aftermath of the race saw both drivers clarifying that there was no ill will between them, but they shared a mutual disappointment in Ferrari’s SF-25 underperformance compared to pre-race expectations. The contentious radio communications between Hamilton and the team have stirred up a storm in the Formula 1 community, highlighting the discord within Ferrari’s camp and raising questions about their decision-making processes under pressure.
