Opel has announced that the GSE sub-brand will become fully electric and will simultaneously receive a new expressive logo, ready for the next generation of GSE models.
“The GSE brand represents particularly dynamic, exciting Opel models. In 2025, we will take the next important step. The new GSE models will be fully electric,” said Florian Huettl, CEO of Opel, in a message posted on social media.
In addition to the sporty appearance, the future fully electric GSE models will feature a chassis configuration that promises to make driving more exciting.
Remember that Opel reintroduced the GSE sub-brand in 2022, launching the Astra Sports Tourer and the previous generation Opel Grandland as particularly bold and dynamic top-of-the-range electrified models with plug-in hybrid traction.
Now with the next generation of GSE, the sub-brand will enter the fully electric era, and all signs point to one of the first 100% electric GSE models being the Mokka.
The brand has not yet confirmed details, but the new model has now appeared in a “teaser” video on social media, where Opel announces the entry of the GSE into the electric era.
The British “Autocar” has already suggested that it is highly likely the new Mokka GSE will use the same configuration of a single electric motor, similar to the Abarth 600e, Alfa Romeo Junior Veloce, and Lancia Ypsilon HF, with a power output of 235 hp or 278 hp.
