VW announced that Werner Tietz will take on the additional role of Director of Research and Development for the VW Group starting July 1, 2025, while simultaneously maintaining his functions as a member of the Board of Management responsible for research and development at Seat S.A.
Tietz succeeds Michael Steiner, who will take on the additional role of Vice President of the Board of Management at Porsche AG, while continuing his role as a member of the Board of Management responsible for research and development at Porsche AG.
“With his vision, technical expertise, and over three decades of experience within the VW Group, Werner Tietz has played a key role in consolidating the innovative strength of brands such as Audi, Porsche, Bentley, Seat, and Cupra. His work represents a future-oriented development, from sustainable materials to the electrification strategy. With this extensive know-how, he will continue to drive research and development at the Volkswagen Group,” said Oliver Blume, CEO of the VW Group.
