Red Bull suspends employee after Christian Horner investigation

The saga of the investigation seems to have come to an end during recent events, which involved a massive data leak. Since then, there have been no significant updates on the team principal’s case. However, amidst preparations for the upcoming race, Max Verstappen’s father, Jos Verstappen, expressed empathy for the employee who made the allegations.

Red Bull clarified that the team principal was not found guilty of any inappropriate behavior towards the employee. Prior to the start of the weekend in Jeddah, Milton Keynes suspended the employee. Consequently, Jos Verstappen mentioned that he understood and sympathized with the woman, considering the suffering she had gone through in relation to the case.

Furthermore, the Dutchman stated that Red Bull was aware of the situation involving the employee. However, it was up to the employee to decide whether she wanted to make her complaints public and pursue the matter. Subsequently, Verstappen Sr. shared his thoughts on the team’s decision to “draw a line” on the case, but refrained from discussing the current situation to avoid complications.

Despite the controversy, 50-year-old Christian Horner has been given the green light to continue leading Red Bull until the 2024 season. 52-year-old Jos Verstappen emphasized the crucial support of team owner Chalerm Yoovidhya in ensuring Horner’s safety within the team. Verstappen Sr. also made it clear that Horner would remain as team principal in Milton Keynes, regardless of all the turmoil.

In addition, the two had a disagreement before the season opener, the Bahrain GP, regarding comments made by Jos Verstappen. Despite the tense relationship between the two, Horner congratulated Verstappen Sr. after Max Verstappen’s dominant victory in the first race of the 2024 season. Therefore, it is likely that the team will continue with the season as planned, despite the ongoing investigation involving Christian Horner.

Red Bull once again managed to create a formidable competitor for the driver’s championship. The team achieved a dominant one-two victory at the Bahrain GP, indicating their potential to have a perfect season in 2024 and break numerous records in the sport. Currently, Red Bull is preparing for the Saudi Arabian GP, with Max Verstappen starting from pole position.
