Lewis Hamilton identifies the key element that is ‘ruining’ the potential of the Mercedes W15.

While the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix is underway, Hamilton faced significant difficulties on Thursday. To address this, he opted to switch to a larger wing on Friday, which improved stability but resulted in slower speeds on the straights. In the first two qualifying sessions, he finished eleventh and tenth, respectively, and in the third session, he ended up in eighth place, behind his teammate.

Following the launch and pre-season testing of the Mercedes W15, both drivers, George Russell and Lewis Hamilton, seemed satisfied with the car. However, during the Bahrain Grand Prix, they encountered some challenges. They were hoping to make improvements and have a better race weekend in Saudi Arabia, but the qualifying results suggest otherwise. Speaking to the press after qualifying, Hamilton stated,

According to Hamilton, the bouncy nature of the car makes it incredibly difficult to navigate the first sector. He believes they have a stronger competitor than last year, but there is still a lot of work to be done. For Saturday’s race, Hamilton decided to stay calm and focus on scoring as many points as possible.

The ongoing turbulence at Red Bull could potentially benefit other teams. The controversy surrounding the Red Bull team principal shows no signs of dissipating anytime soon. The team is going through significant power struggles and political issues. As a result, there have been numerous speculations about team members moving to other teams in the near future.

One individual mentioned and hinted at by Lewis Hamilton, the seven-time world champion, is . Hamilton suggests that Newey may potentially join Ferrari in 2025. This is not the first time Newey has been linked to Ferrari.

In the past, there have been several mentions of Ferrari’s interest in acquiring Newey’s services. After Red Bull’s dominant era with Sebastian Vettel ended in 2014, Ferrari came closer to securing his talents. Although nothing is confirmed at this time, the ongoing turmoil at Red Bull opens up many possibilities for the future.
