In the high-stakes world of Formula 1, Sergio Perez’s name continues to echo loudly despite his absence from the track this season. Speculations were rife about his potential inclusion in the Cadillac team at the recent Miami GP, but the Mexican driver’s options remain wide open, with Alpine and Mercedes also vying for his talents in the upcoming 2026 season.

Alpine, formerly known as Renault, has a history with Perez, who was once a top contender for a seat with the team. Although the deal never materialized back then, recent developments suggest a potential reunion. With Alpine going through a restructuring phase, the team is eyeing Perez’s valuable experience and the financial backing he brings.

Meanwhile, Mercedes is also in the mix, with team principal Toto Wolff expressing admiration for Perez’s skills both on and off the track. A potential driver shuffle at Mercedes could open up a seat for Perez, especially if current star George Russell makes a move elsewhere.

On the other hand, Cadillac is not out of the race yet. The American team recognizes Perez’s knack for car development and his strong fan base in the United States. Despite rumors suggesting a done deal, Perez has not inked any contracts, leaving fans and pundits on the edge of their seats.

With multiple lucrative offers on the table, the ball is in Perez’s court as he navigates the complex web of Formula 1 politics and negotiations. As the 2026 season looms closer, the racing world eagerly awaits his decision, which could potentially reshape the F1 landscape for years to come.
