Ross Chastain, the No.1 driver for Trackhouse Racing, has shed light on the team’s ongoing struggles during qualifying sessions. Since the start of the 2025 season, Trackhouse Racing has been grappling with inconsistent performances despite having a full roster of talented drivers including Chastain, Daniel Suarez, and Shane van Gisbergen. The team’s Achilles’ heel appears to be the qualifying sessions, where they have been unable to secure favorable starting positions for the races.

Chastain, currently ranked 11th in the drivers’ standings, has acknowledged the team’s early weekend woes, particularly in qualifying. Despite a second-place finish in Texas, Chastain believes that Trackhouse’s challenges extend beyond a single race and that improvements are necessary moving forward. He expressed frustration at consistently starting races from the back of the grid and emphasized the need for better qualifying performances to enhance their competitive edge.

The 32-year-old driver’s best start this season has been a modest 19th place at the Pennzoil 400 in Las Vegas, highlighting the team’s struggles to break into the front pack. While Chastain acknowledges the progress made by Trackhouse Racing and Chevrolet in recent years, he is adamant about not settling for subpar results and is determined to elevate the team’s performance, especially in qualifying sessions.

Despite facing setbacks, Chastain remains optimistic about the team’s potential to turn the season around and compete for front-row starts in upcoming races. Collaborative efforts with Chevrolet and ECR engines are underway to address performance issues and bridge the gap with their competitors. The driver’s unwavering commitment to improvement signals a fierce determination to overcome challenges and emerge stronger in the highly competitive racing landscape.
