Red Bull’s Marko Declares Yuki Tsunoda as Max Verstappen’s Strongest Team-Mate Yet!

Red Bull’s Helmut Marko has made a bold statement, claiming that Yuki Tsunoda is the first team-mate of Max Verstappen who can rival the Dutch driver’s level of performance. After four race weekends with Red Bull, Tsunoda has impressed with points finishes in three races, including a 6th place in the Miami sprint race.

Tsunoda replaced Liam Lawson in the second Red Bull seat and has been showing promising signs of growth, although his point tally still falls short of Verstappen’s dominating performance. Marko praised Tsunoda’s progress but highlighted that the Japanese racer still struggles under pressure, making crucial mistakes at times.

The recent Miami Grand Prix saw Red Bull facing challenges, with Verstappen securing pole position but ending up in 4th place behind the McLaren duo. Marko admitted that Red Bull lacked the pace to keep up with the McLarens, emphasizing the need to improve to match the performance of their competitors.

The gap between Red Bull and the leading McLaren in Miami raised concerns within the team, with Marko acknowledging the strength of Mercedes as well. The Red Bull advisor stressed the importance of finding solutions to bridge the performance gap and compete at the highest level in Formula 1.

As the rivalry between Red Bull and their competitors intensifies, all eyes will be on how Tsunoda continues to develop and whether he can indeed become the strongest team-mate Verstappen has ever had. The Formula 1 season promises more thrilling battles and intense competition as teams strive for supremacy on the track.
