Former F1 team principal, Oliver Oakes, makes a dramatic move to Dubai following his brother’s apprehension with a significant sum of money. The unfolding events involving Oakes and the Hitech team have sent shockwaves through the racing world.

Oliver Oakes, known for his past roles with Alpine and Hitech GP, abruptly left Formula 1 after the Miami Grand Prix. His brother, William Oakes, faced charges of ‘transferring criminal property,’ leaving Hitech’s cars impounded upon their return from the Middle East. Sources suggest that Oliver Oakes has now set foot in Dubai amidst the ongoing turmoil.

The arrest of William Oakes, reportedly in possession of a large sum of cash, has raised eyebrows and drawn attention to the Oakes family’s connections with Russian oligarch Dmitry Mazepin. Mazepin’s ties to Hitech, previously owning a 75 percent stake before Oakes assumed full ownership, have come under scrutiny, especially after Mazepin’s recent visit to Oakes during Bahrain testing.

Following Oliver Oakes’ sudden resignation from Alpine, speculation arose regarding a rift over driver selection, which Flavio Briatore, the new team lead, dismissed. Briatore clarified that Oakes’ departure was due to personal reasons, refuting claims of discord within the team.

In response to Briatore’s statements, Oakes expressed gratitude for his time at Enstone and emphasized that his decision to step down was personal. Despite the upheaval, Oakes remains optimistic about the team’s future and is confident in the existing management’s ability to steer Enstone towards success.

The unfolding saga involving Oliver Oakes, his brother’s legal troubles, and the intricate web of connections in the racing world has captivated enthusiasts and insiders alike. Stay tuned for more developments as this gripping narrative continues to evolve.
