Carlos Sainz Sr. Ready to Challenge Mohammed Ben Sulayem for FIA Presidency

In a surprising turn of events, Carlos Sainz Sr., father of renowned Formula 1 driver Carlos Sainz Jr., has thrown his hat in the ring to compete against Mohammed Ben Sulayem for the position of FIA President. The FIA, under Ben Sulayem’s leadership, has faced intense scrutiny following controversial rulings against drivers like Max Verstappen, leading to widespread backlash from the racing community.

As the upcoming presidential elections loom closer, Ben Sulayem is facing stiff competition from Susie Wolff, the Managing Director of the F1 Academy. However, Sainz Sr.’s entry into the race has added a new dimension to the already heated battle for the coveted role.

With accusations of bias and harsh regulations impacting the sport, many believe that a change in leadership is necessary. Sainz Sr., with over 40 years of experience in various forms of motorsport, believes he is well-equipped to lead the FIA and make significant innovations in the world of racing.

While Wolff remains a strong contender, Sainz Sr.’s commitment to giving back to the sport that has been a significant part of his life could sway the support in his favor. The Spaniard’s vision for improving both car racing and mobility, ensuring a positive environmental impact, has resonated with many in the racing community.

As the battle for the FIA presidency intensifies, all eyes are on the candidates vying for the position. Whether Ben Sulayem will retain his seat or a new leader like Sainz Sr. will usher in a new era for motorsport governance remains to be seen. Stay tuned for more updates on this thrilling race to lead the FIA into the future.
