Pato O’Ward to Showcase Skills with McLaren in Mexico Grand Prix Free Practice Session

In a thrilling announcement, Pato O’Ward is set to rev up the track once again, this time with McLaren during the Free Practice 1 (FP1) of the 2025 Mexico City Grand Prix. The 26-year-old Mexican driver will take the wheel of one of the MCL39 at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez on October 24, marking his return to the prestigious event.

Maintaining his role as McLaren’s Reserve Driver, O’Ward expressed his excitement, stating, “I am thrilled to be back in the car for FP1 at my home race in Mexico this year.” This sentiment was echoed by Andrea Stella, Team Principal of McLaren, who praised O’Ward’s past contributions and current performance in the NTT Indycar Series, deeming him a suitable choice for the FP1 session.
