Mick Doohan’s Fiery Defense: Son’s Alpine Demotion Sparks Gasly Comparison Fury

Formula 1 Drama Unfolds: Mick Doohan Defends Son Jack Against Alpine’s Decision

In a shocking turn of events in the Formula 1 world, Mick Doohan, the legendary former racer, has taken a stand to defend his son, Jack Doohan, following Alpine’s decision to demote him from his seat. The young Australian driver was replaced by Franco Colapinto after failing to secure any points in his six races with the team.

The comparison was drawn between Jack and Pierre Gasly, with Mick Doohan highlighting that while Gasly has scored seven points, Jack has unfortunately not managed to secure any. Despite this, Mick Doohan made it clear that his son’s performances were not a complete disaster, signaling his discontent with Alpine’s choice.

Alpine’s decision to bring in Colapinto alongside Gasly for the next five races comes amidst a turbulent period for the team, with the departure of team principal Ollie Oakes. The reins have now been taken over by Flavio Briatore, who previously resigned from the team in 2009 following the ‘Crashgate’ scandal.

The move to replace Jack Doohan with Franco Colapinto is believed to have cost Alpine a fee of €4.5m, with the Argentine driver expected to bring valuable endorsements to the team. Colapinto’s performance at Williams showed promise initially, with points in two of his first four races, but he faced setbacks towards the end of the season with three retirements in the last four races.

As Jack Doohan navigates through this setback in his career, he has received support from fellow Australian racer Oscar Piastri. Piastri expressed confidence in Jack’s ability to bounce back, stating that regardless of the outcome, Jack should be proud of making it to Formula 1.

The Formula 1 community is abuzz with speculation and anticipation as the drama continues to unfold both on and off the track. Stay tuned for more updates on this gripping saga in the world of motorsport.
