Lewis Hamilton’s hopes for a comeback in the Formula 1 season have been reignited as Ferrari’s team principal, Fred Vasseur, reveals a timeline for the team’s anticipated improvements. The recent Miami Grand Prix proved to be a challenging race for Hamilton, with frustrations mounting as he faced setbacks and a disappointing P8 finish. Ferrari struggled with pace throughout the weekend, highlighting weaknesses in the SF-25 car, particularly in slower corners, as they fell behind competitors like McLaren, Red Bull, and Mercedes.

Vasseur confirmed that upgrades are on the horizon, with initial changes set to debut at the upcoming race in Imola. More significant updates are scheduled for the Spanish Grand Prix in May, offering a glimmer of hope for Hamilton and his teammate, Charles Leclerc. Despite the positive outlook, Vasseur emphasized the importance of focusing on finding the right balance for the car rather than solely relying on developments to drive performance.

The team’s performance in Miami was not without its challenges, as Vasseur expressed concerns about tire issues impacting their pace. Reflecting on the race weekend, he acknowledged the need to address these problems systematically to improve overall performance. Vasseur highlighted the significance of tire management, noting that maximizing their potential is crucial for enhancing the car’s competitiveness on the track.

As Ferrari prepares to implement upgrades and fine-tune their approach for future races, the pressure is on for Hamilton and the team to deliver improved results. With the upcoming races presenting opportunities for progress, fans are eager to see if Ferrari can make significant strides towards reclaiming their competitive edge in the Formula 1 championship.
