The average weekly price calculated by the Energy Services Regulatory Authority (ERSE) showed a mixed behavior, rising 0.8% for gasoline and decreasing 0.6% for diesel, the most used fuel in Portugal.
According to the ERSE report released this Monday, the efficient price recorded an update, “taking into account the weekly variation of international quotations for regular gasoline by +1.9% and for regular diesel by -1.2%.”.
Therefore, “for the week of March 4 to 10, the Pre-Tax Efficient Price is €0.856 per liter for regular gasoline and €0.924 for regular diesel”, with taxes, “it amounts to €1.764 per liter for regular gasoline and €1.681 for regular diesel.”.
It is worth noting that the efficient price “is a weekly average price determined by the ERSE and results from the sum of the following components: fuel prices in international reference markets and their respective maritime freights, primary logistics including strategic reserves and security of the National Petroleum System, additional costs for the incorporation of biofuels, and the retail component plus the respective taxes.”.
Regarding the previous week, the report states that “it was found that the average of the Public Sale Prices announced on the signs, and reported in the Single Energy Counter, was 2.2 cents per liter above the Efficient Price, for that week, in the case of regular gasoline 95, and 1.7 cents, above in the case of regular diesel”.
In percentage terms, “regular gasoline 95 was announced on the signs 1.2% above the Efficient Price and regular diesel was 1% above”, according to the report.
