IndyCar 2024: Coyne revela trio de pilotos para a temporada.

The grid for the 2024 IndyCar season has finally been set, with Dale Coyne Racing announcing their lineup just days before the first race. The team’s car number 18 will be shared by Jack Harvey and Nolan Siegel, while Colin Braun will take the wheel of car number 51 previously driven by Romain Grosjean. Dale Coyne Racing has a history of surprising lineups and waits until the last minute to confirm their drivers for the season. This year, with Sting Ray Robb joining AJ Foyt Racing and David Malukas moving to Arrow McLaren, Coyne took his time to reveal their new lineup.

Colin Braun, a veteran sports car driver, will make his IndyCar debut in St. Petersburg at 35 years old. He has had success in various racing categories, including wins in the NASCAR Truck Series. Braun’s stock rose after a strong 2023 season, where he achieved podiums and victories in the IMSA. Known for his quick learning ability and dedication, Braun will face a challenging debut on the streets of St. Petersburg.

It is unknown how many races Braun will compete for Coyne beyond St. Petersburg and the non-championship event at Thermal Club. Currently competing in the LMP2 category in IMSA, Braun’s availability will depend on his commitments with other teams. Another driver gaining momentum is Katherine Legge, who is set to join Coyne for the Brickyard classic. Legge was replaced by Takuma Sato at Rahal Letterman Lanigan, but will have the opportunity to compete in the Indy 500 with Coyne.

Joining Legge in the formation of the Indy 500 will be Nolan Siegel, who raced for HMD team in the Indy NXT last year. Siegel will also compete in non-conflicting IndyCar races, including Thermal, Long Beach, Toronto, and the Indy 500. Jack Harvey, who had a successful stint with Meyer Shank Racing, will not be driving in the Indy 500 or the Thermal race. Harvey will need to regain his form from his time with Meyer Shank to make a strong comeback.

The only remaining confirmation this week is the replacement of the injured David Malukas, which is expected to be Callum Ilott. Other teams have also finalized their lineups for the season, including AJ Foyt Racing, Andretti Global, Arrow McLaren, Chip Ganassi, Ed Carpenter Racing, Juncos Hollinger, Meyer Shank, Rahal Letterman Lanigan, and Team Penske.
