Cadillac Delays Driver Announcement for F1 Debut Amid Sergio Perez Speculation

Get ready for the thrill of the century as Cadillac gears up for its monumental entrance into the Formula 1 scene in 2026. The American automaker, backed by GM, is in no rush to unveil its drivers for the upcoming season, igniting intense speculation around the racing world.

With the team’s car design well underway and plans for its own power unit approved for use from 2029, the burning question remains – who will pilot the Cadillac into the high-octane world of F1?

Despite swirling rumors linking experienced driver Sergio Perez to the team, Cadillac’s chief executive, Dan Towriss, remains tight-lipped about any confirmed driver signings. In a recent statement to reporters, Towriss emphasized the meticulous process of selecting the perfect candidate for their debut season, stressing the importance of more than just on-track performance.

Towriss hinted at the possibility of having an American driver represent Cadillac but emphasized the significance of choosing the right individual at the right time, rather than rushing into a decision for the sake of nationality. While the team is committed to the idea of a ‘homegrown’ talent behind the wheel, the focus remains on ensuring the chosen driver’s success and the team’s competitive edge in the F1 landscape.

As discussions and speculations continue to swirl around Cadillac’s F1 debut, the racing world eagerly awaits the unveiling of the drivers who will lead this American powerhouse into the adrenaline-fueled realm of Formula 1. Stay tuned for more updates on this groundbreaking development in the world of motorsport.
