Felix Rosenqvist’s Epic Journey: From Rookie to Veteran in 100 Thrilling IndyCar Races

Felix Rosenqvist (60) and Will Power (12) exit the pits behind Scott Dixon (9) during qualifying at The Thermal Club IndyCar Grand Prix in Thermal, Calif., Saturday, March 22, 2025.

IndyCar Star Felix Rosenqvist Still Hungry for Success After 100 Races

In the high-octane world of IndyCar racing, Felix Rosenqvist is gearing up for his 100th race at Barber Motorsports Park. Despite this milestone, the Swedish driver still considers himself a rookie, continuously absorbing knowledge and refining his skills with each race he competes in.

Rosenqvist, now in his seventh year in the IndyCar series, is off to a blazing start this season, securing three top 10 finishes and impressively qualifying on the second row twice. This stellar performance has catapulted him to fourth place in the championship standings, outshining seasoned veterans like Scott Dixon and Pato O’Ward.

Reflecting on his journey, Rosenqvist admits, “Time just seems to fly by. I didn’t think at the time I’d get this old. Seven years. But it’s cool.” Despite his experience, he acknowledges the ever-evolving challenges of the sport, emphasizing the need to constantly adapt and learn. “In a way, you always feel like a rookie because it’s kind of hard to just rely on your experience,” Rosenqvist states.

The 33-year-old driver has experienced a rollercoaster ride since his IndyCar debut in 2019, initially showing promise with Chip Ganassi Racing before facing struggles with Arrow McLaren. However, a move to Meyer Shank Racing reignited his career, leading to a fruitful partnership that has yielded positive results.

As Rosenqvist hits a major career milestone, he remains optimistic about the future, aiming to build on his recent success and set his sights on the next 100 races. “It feels a bit unreal, to be honest. It kind of brings you back a little bit to when you were a kid, you were dreaming about driving in IndyCar,” he shares, highlighting his gratitude for competing in one of the world’s top racing leagues.

With a renewed sense of purpose and confidence, Rosenqvist is determined to make his mark on the sport and continue his upward trajectory. As he embarks on his 100th race, the seasoned driver exudes enthusiasm and passion, embodying the spirit of a true racing icon.
