FIA expressa preocupação sobre cobertura ‘enganosa’ de acusações contra Presidente Mohammed Ben Sulayem.

The media was criticized by the FIA for reporting certain aspects of the accusations against Mohammed Ben Sulayem incorrectly. Ben Sulayem, a prominent figure in the world of Formula 1, is currently under investigation for two separate accusations. The sport’s governing body had previously issued a statement on the situation and now expresses its disapproval with the media coverage.

One of the accusations against Ben Sulayem is that he tried to interfere with the outcome of an F1 race. Specifically, he allegedly tried to overturn a penalty imposed on a driver during the 2023 season. Additionally, the 62-year-old man was accused of withholding certification for the Las Vegas Grand Prix to prevent the race from taking place in Sin City.

The FIA confirmed that it has received a report of these accusations and its Compliance Officer will conduct an investigation. Rumors indicate that the informant who brought these accusations to light is a former FIA employee who now works for F1.

The FIA expressed concern that the media had access to this information without their permission. Furthermore, they claim that certain aspects of the accusations were reported incorrectly. The FIA is taking these accusations seriously and will question Ben Sulayem through its Ethics Committee.

Mohammed Ben Sulayem took over as President of the FIA in December 2021, succeeding his predecessor. During his tenure, he has faced several challenges and had disagreements with the CEO of F1. However, the current accusations may be the most significant obstacle he has faced so far.

As President of the FIA, it is crucial for Ben Sulayem to remain impartial and not allow personal interests to influence his decisions. The accusations against him are serious, as they involve possible interference in race results, undermining transparency and fairness. Furthermore, the alleged attempt to block the Las Vegas Grand Prix could have serious consequences for his career.

It will undoubtedly be interesting to see how Mohammed Ben Sulayem handles these investigations and tries to clear his name. The 62-year-old man will likely strive to refute the accusations made by the informant. The outcome of these investigations will determine the future of the President of the FIA in the coming days.
