Xpeng apresenta robô humanoide ‘Iron’ utilizado na produção automóvel

Xpeng, the leading company in high-tech intelligent mobility, unveiled its latest humanoid robot, Iron, at the recent Shanghai Auto Show. The robot is equipped with a Turing artificial intelligence chip, has 60 joints, 200 degrees of freedom, and a processing capacity of 3,000 tops.

The electric vehicle manufacturer introduced its first humanoid robot, “Iron,” in November 2024. According to Xpeng, Iron is already operational in some automotive production lines, assisting in the assembly of future electric vehicles.

Xpeng’s new humanoid robot features a 720º artificial intelligence (AI) vision system, which is also utilized in the company’s autonomous driving technology.

The Iron’s voice interaction system, adapted from Xpeng’s smart cockpit, allows for natural conversations through active reasoning and logical thinking.

With a height of 1.73 meters and a weight of 70 kilograms, Iron has been designed with human-like proportions and is intended to perform complex tasks in smart factories and retail environments, bridging the gap between AI concepts and the real world.

According to Xpeng, Iron’s advanced mobility is powered by large end-to-end models and reinforcement learning, allowing for smooth and natural movements and a stable walk without the typical rigidity of traditional robots.

Xpeng also revealed that Iron represents its vision for a future where smart mobility and intelligent robotics converge deeply. The company even envisions Iron as a personal assistant in offices and even homes.
