Lewis Hamilton partilha pensamentos sobre escândalo envolvendo Christian Horner.

A whistleblower alleged that the President of the International Automobile Federation (FIA) made an effort to overturn a penalty imposed on Fernando Alonso.

The start of the 2024 Formula 1 season was marked by controversies involving Christian Horner, the team principal of Red Bull, and accusations against Mohammed Ben Sulayem, the president of the FIA.

Reigning champions Red Bull faced scrutiny that was intensified by a report from the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), which claimed that Ben Sulayem interfered in a penalty decision during the 2023 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.

According to a whistleblower, the President of the FIA tried to overturn a penalty imposed on Fernando Alonso.

In response, the FIA announced that its compliance officer is investigating the allegations to ensure that proper procedures are followed.

Lewis Hamilton, seven-time world champion, expressed his disappointment with the current state of Formula 1.

Speaking on the eve of the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, Hamilton stated: “As a passionate fan of the sport, it is truly disheartening to witness the current situation. This does not present a positive image to the outside world.

“I believe this is a crucial moment for the sport to stand up for its values and be accountable for its actions.

“It is imperative that we demonstrate transparency and I sincerely hope to see progress in the future.

“I hope this is not a recurring theme throughout the year, but it sheds light on some of the issues that exist within the sport.

“When we talk about diversity and inclusion, it is essential that everyone feels comfortable in this environment and unfortunately, that is not the case currently.”

When asked if this situation reminded him of the behavior of the ‘Piranha Club’ mentioned by former McLaren team boss Ron Dennis, Hamilton responded vaguely, indicating the complexity of issues within Formula 1.

George Russell, Hamilton’s teammate and director of the Grand Prix Drivers’ Association, echoed the call for transparency, emphasizing the drivers’ desire to have all the facts presented openly.

This collective sentiment highlights a critical period for Formula 1, emphasizing the importance of integrity, transparency, and adherence to the sport’s core values amid ongoing controversies.
