Helio Castroneves, the legendary Brazilian race car driver, is set to shake up the Brazilian Stock Car Pro Series in 2025. With an impressive track record including four wins at the prestigious Indianapolis 500, Castroneves is a force to be reckoned with on the racetrack. He will be driving the Chevrolet Tracker for RTR Sport, a team making its debut in the Pro Series.

The 2025 season will see a thrilling addition to the grid with the introduction of SUVs, replacing the traditional sedans. Alongside the Chevrolet Tracker and Toyota Corolla Cross, Mitsubishi will make a comeback with the Eclipse Cross. Castroneves expressed his excitement about this new challenge, stating, “I am a big fan of the category, especially now that the challenge is doubled with the entry of the new SUV concept.”

RTR Sport owner, Maique Papareli, also shared his enthusiasm about having Castroneves on board, “Having a name with Helio’s history and talent in our project is the realization of a great dream and a milestone in the team’s trajectory.” The team is confident that Castroneves’ experience and dedication will lead to exceptional results and further elevate their presence in Brazilian motorsports.

Although Castroneves has been primarily racing in the United States, where he is aiming for his fifth Indy 500 title, he is no stranger to the Brazilian Stock Car scene. His last full season in Brazil was in 1994, and he has since garnered success internationally, with wins at the Indy 500, Daytona 24 Hours, and the 2020 IMSA title.

Joining the grid alongside Castroneves are other Brazilian racing icons such as Rubens Barrichello, Felipe Massa, Nelson Piquet Jr, and Ricardo Zonta. The 2025 season promises to be a thrilling spectacle with a mix of seasoned veterans and fresh talent competing for glory.

Castroneves’ return to the Brazilian Stock Car Pro Series has generated immense excitement among motorsport enthusiasts, and all eyes will be on him as he revs up his engines for the upcoming season.
