NASCAR Star Brad Keselowski Unleashes Fury on “Worst Invention” in Auto History

Renowned NASCAR champion Brad Keselowski has set the automotive world on fire with his scathing criticism of what he deems the “worst invention in automotive history.” The 2012 Cup Series champion did not hold back as he singled out the auto-start/stop system in modern cars, labeling it a top-10 contender for the most detested automotive innovation.

In a bold statement, Keselowski expressed his disdain for the auto-start/stop system, which automatically shuts down the engine of a vehicle when it’s at idle to conserve fuel, particularly in congested traffic conditions. Despite its fuel-saving benefits, the system has faced backlash from many drivers, including Keselowski, who find it more bothersome than beneficial. The NASCAR veteran highlighted the frustration of the engine shutting off unexpectedly, leading many to disable the feature altogether during their drives.

While Keselowski is making waves with his automotive opinions, he is also navigating the competitive realm of racing as the co-owner and driver at RFK Racing. Despite facing tough competition from teammates Chris Buescher and Ryan Preece, who have outperformed him this season with top 5 finishes, Keselowski remains optimistic about his team’s progress. The 41-year-old driver sees the success of his teammates as a building block for RFK Racing’s future, even if it means they surpass him on the track.

Although Keselowski has had a slower start to the 2025 season compared to his younger counterparts, he is not ready to be counted out just yet. With his wealth of experience and racing acumen, Keselowski still holds the potential to make a comeback and leave his mark on NASCAR once again. Whether he outshines his teammates or not, Keselowski’s journey in the sport is a testament to his enduring legacy in NASCAR.

As fans eagerly await Keselowski’s next move on and off the track, one thing is certain – the NASCAR star’s outspoken opinions and competitive spirit continue to make headlines in the world of auto racing.
