In a jaw-dropping display of dominance, Kalle Rovanperä seized victory at Rally Islas Canarias, propelling himself back into contention for a third FIA World Rally Championship title. The Finnish ace left his competitors in the dust with a stellar performance, conquering the challenging asphalt roads and mountain passes of Gran Canaria with unparalleled speed and precision.

Rovanperä’s remarkable win saw him slash his championship deficit from almost 60 points to just 43, elevating him to second place in the standings. His masterful driving skills were on full display as he clinched victory by a staggering 53.5 seconds over his Toyota GAZOO Racing teammate, Sébastien Ogier.

The rally proved to be a tough battle for Hyundai Motorsport, with all three i20 N Rally1 drivers struggling to keep pace due to handling issues. Despite their best efforts, the Hyundai team could not challenge the dominance of Toyota, allowing the latter to extend its lead in the manufacturers’ championship by 49 points.

Elfyn Evans continued his streak of podium finishes, securing third place and further solidifying his lead in the championship standings. The Welshman’s consistency throughout the season has been commendable, keeping him in contention for the coveted title.

The Rally Islas Canarias showcased Toyota’s supremacy, with Rovanperä’s outstanding victory underscoring the team’s exceptional performance. The thrilling event not only tested the skills of the drivers but also pushed the cars, crews, and teams to their limits on the demanding terrain.

As the dust settles on Rally Islas Canarias, Rovanperä basks in the glory of his triumph, signaling a fierce battle ahead in the quest for the World Rally Championship title. The competition is heating up, setting the stage for an electrifying showdown in the races to come.
