Opel está pronta para reforçar gama elétrica com dois novos modelos

Opel has revealed a press release highlighting its range of electric vehicles, but the most intriguing part is that two covered vehicles appear in the background alongside the electric models we already know.

Everything points to these being the new generations of the SUVs, Frontera and Grandland, that the brand intends to present soon, reinforcing the electrification strategy of the Rüsselsheim house.

It is worth noting that Opel’s current 100% electric range includes the models Rocks, Corsa, Mokka, Astra, Astra Sports Tourer, Combo, and Zafira, as well as the commercial models Combo Cargo, Vivaro, and Movano.

Thus, Opel presents a gap in the compact and subcompact SUV segment, which will soon be filled by the arrival of the Frontera and Grandland.

The German brand has already announced that the new Frontera will be presented at the end of this year, and it will be the first production car of the German brand to feature the new Opel Blitz emblem and will be available from launch in a 100% electric version.

It is worth remembering that the original Frontera, a robust mid-size SUV with a Land Rover Freelander style, was marketed between 1991 and 2004 and had two generations.

On the other hand, the Grandland will share the STLA Medium platform with the new Peugeot 3008 and the upcoming Citroen C5 Aircross, being available in mild hybrid and 100% electric versions.
