Fernando Alonso reveals when he will make the final decision about his future in Formula 1.

The Spanish driver shared his thoughts on his future prospects in Formula 1. Fernando Alonso (via IMAGO) The Aston Martin competitor expressed his intention to continue in Formula 1 beyond the age of 40 on previous occasions. However, due to his age, he had been considering the end of his journey in F1. However, after undergoing physical exams and tests during the winter break, he became certain about his desire to race.

During the launch of the Aston Martin AMR24 last month, Alonso stated that he would first need to decide whether he wants to continue driving after this season. Only then will he choose which team to drive for. With [driver’s name] moving to Ferrari in 2025 and several drivers not having fixed contracts for the 2025 season, Alonso’s decision may be influenced. Alonso mentioned that he may be one of the good candidates to take over at Mercedes.

While Alonso is still contemplating his decision to remain an F1 driver, he also acknowledged that he would need to make sacrifices. Nevertheless, he emphasized that he puts his heart and soul into his work. He will not stay in F1 just for fun. If he chooses to continue, he will give it his all. In the end, the decision is up to him.

Free practice sessions in Jeddah have begun. In the practice sessions for the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, [driver’s name] from Aston Martin led, followed by [driver’s name] from Mercedes and [driver’s name] from Red Bull.

The ace of Red Bull, Verstappen, who easily won the first race of the season in Bahrain last weekend, was closely pursued by Alonso, trailing by 0.230 seconds and 0.331 seconds, respectively. After finishing ninth in the season-opening race in Bahrain, Alonso impressed by setting a new record in the second free practice session with a time of 1:28.827, placing second only behind Verstappen.

Although these were just free practices, the Spanish driver mentioned to the press that it was a promising start. However, the Aston Martin driver expressed concerns that they are always faster in free practice than in qualifying. According to him, the team employs different strategies regarding fuel loads and engines.
