VIDEO – Fernando Alonso’s Death-Defying Near Miss: Astonishing Maneuver at Saudi Arabian GP

Fernando Alonso’s Close Call: A Thrilling Near-Miss at the Saudi Arabian GP!

In a heart-stopping moment at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, Fernando Alonso narrowly avoided a potentially catastrophic collision with his own client, Gabriel Bortoleto. The Spanish racing icon, known for his lightning-fast reflexes, managed to swerve past Bortoleto’s car with mere inches to spare, dodging the looming wall that could have spelled disaster for both drivers.

The tension-filled incident unfolded during the 26th lap of the race when Liam Lawson overtook Bortoleto, with Alonso’s Aston Martin hot on their heels. In a risky move to gain position, Alonso attempted to pass Bortoleto on the outside, only for the Brazilian driver to unexpectedly veer towards him, nearly closing the door on the two-time world champion.

Despite the gravity of the situation, Alonso displayed remarkable composure, skillfully maneuvering through the narrow gap between Bortoleto’s car and the barriers. Radioing his team immediately after the near-miss, Alonso expressed his astonishment at the perilous situation, highlighting the grave danger they had narrowly averted.

Interestingly, race officials chose not to investigate the incident, leaving many baffled by the lack of action taken. However, both Alonso and Bortoleto found humor in the situation after the race, with Alonso jokingly remarking, “No dinner for him,” in reference to Bortoleto’s close call.

While the tension between the two drivers could have escalated post-race, they both downplayed the incident, with Bortoleto acknowledging his role in the near-miss and Alonso accepting the risks inherent in his maneuver. The lighthearted banter continued even in the podium room, with other drivers joining in on the jesting about Bortoleto’s potential flight home being in jeopardy.

The adrenaline-pumping showdown between Alonso and Bortoleto serves as a reminder of the high stakes and intense competition in Formula 1, where split-second decisions can mean the difference between victory and disaster.
