Lewis Hamilton Faces Major Setback as Plant-Based Restaurant Chain Shuts Down

In a shocking turn of events, Lewis Hamilton, the seven-time World Champion, is dealing with yet another setback in 2025. Not only has he been struggling on the track, but his venture into the food industry has hit a major roadblock with the closure of ‘Neat Burgers’, the plant-based restaurant chain he co-founded with Leonardo DiCaprio.

Hamilton, a vocal advocate for veganism since 2017, launched ‘Neat Burgers’ in 2019 with the aim of providing a more ethical and sustainable dining option for consumers. Teaming up with Hollywood star DiCaprio, the duo expressed their commitment to promoting a healthier high street option for those following a plant-based diet.

However, after facing significant financial losses in recent years, ‘Neat Burgers’ has been forced to shut down multiple branches, including their flagship locations in the UK and New York. The closure of the final two UK branches marks the end of an ambitious project that failed to gain long-term success in the competitive food industry.

With a reported loss of £7.9 million in 2022, ‘Neat Burgers’ struggled to stay afloat despite Hamilton’s vision and partnership with Beyond Meat. The closure of the chain’s remaining outlets signals a disappointing conclusion to a once-promising venture that aimed to revolutionize the fast-food landscape with sustainable and cruelty-free options.

As Hamilton grapples with both personal and professional challenges, the demise of ‘Neat Burgers’ serves as a stark reminder of the unforgiving nature of the business world. Despite his success on the racetrack, the Formula 1 icon now faces the harsh reality of entrepreneurial failure, shedding light on the complexities of balancing sports stardom with business endeavors.

The closure of ‘Neat Burgers’ highlights the harsh realities of the food industry and the challenges faced by high-profile individuals venturing into new business territories. While Hamilton remains a powerhouse in Formula 1, his foray into the restaurant business has come to an abrupt and disappointing end, leaving fans and investors alike questioning the sustainability of celebrity-backed ventures in an ever-evolving market.
