Incêndio destrói 17 veículos da Tesla em Itália

Tesla is experiencing a tumultuous year with declining global sales, including data in the image caused by CEO Elon Musk’s proximity to the U.S. administration led by President Donald Trump.

Additionally, in China, the largest automotive market globally, Tesla’s sales are declining due to strong competition from Chinese electric vehicles, coupled with an aging lineup.

Tesla fans and investors were hoping for some relief with the arrival of cheaper variants of the Model Y, as well as the anticipated launch of Tesla’s more affordable electric vehicle. Internal sources suggest that this model will be a smaller and scaled-down version of the current Model Y, with the code name E41, which will have production costs at least 20% lower.

Although Tesla revealed that the new low-cost model would be unveiled in the first half of 2025, “Reuters” now reports that the launch of the model is expected to be delayed by several months, although the reasons are still unclear.

The same source also states that initially the model will be targeted at the U.S. market, with a production goal of 250,000 units to be manufactured in the United States using the existing production lines of the Model Y.

Furthermore, everything indicates that there are plans underway to also launch a cheaper Model 3. Although the details are still unclear, this more basic version will likely be based on the rear-wheel-drive model.

We just have to wait to see if the brand led by Elon Musk will indeed move forward in the coming times, and when, with two new low-cost electric models.
