Lewis Hamilton’s hopes for the 2025 F1 season have plunged into darkness as he anticipates ongoing agony behind the wheel. The seven-time world champion expressed deep concerns following a dismal performance at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, where he finished a distant second to his Ferrari teammate, Charles Leclerc.

Hamilton’s struggles in Jeddah were glaring, with Leclerc a staggering 31 seconds ahead at the checkered flag. The Briton, usually a fierce competitor, admitted to feeling uncomfortable throughout the race, highlighting a severe lack of pace and grip in his Ferrari.

The gap between Hamilton and Leclerc was the largest among teammates finishing on the same lap, painting a grim picture of the former champion’s current form. Hamilton’s dissatisfaction was palpable as he lamented the lack of positives and the overwhelming sense of discomfort in his car.

The Mercedes-to-Ferrari transition that initially showed promise has now turned into a nightmare for Hamilton. Despite a recent triumph in Shanghai, where he won the sprint, Hamilton is struggling to replicate that success, leaving him baffled and frustrated about his future performances.

The contrasting fortunes between Hamilton and Leclerc within the Ferrari team have raised eyebrows, with Leclerc’s dominance in recent races underscoring Hamilton’s predicament. The seasoned driver acknowledged the stark difference in performance between himself and Leclerc, pointing towards setup variations and driving styles as potential factors.

Looking ahead, Hamilton expressed uncertainty about his ability to turn the tide in the current season, hinting at a prolonged period of struggle and disappointment. His lack of confidence in the car’s performance and his own driving capabilities has cast a shadow of doubt over his prospects for the remainder of the year.

As the F1 fraternity gears up for a new ruleset in 2026, Hamilton remains skeptical about the potential improvements it may bring. With his focus firmly on navigating through the challenges of the present, Hamilton’s future in the sport hangs in the balance as he grapples with the relentless pursuit of success amidst mounting obstacles.
